Who we are

A small crew, a long ladder and a stubborn respect for detail.

Emberline was started in a Paddington garage by roof plumber Daniel Vasilek after the 2006 Blue Mountains season. Today we are a five-person crew working only in Sydney’s bushfire-prone suburbs — Hornsby to Sutherland, Wahroonga to Bundeena. We do one thing: we close every gap an ember could enter.

No sales agents, no subcontracted labour. The person who quotes your roof is the person who fits the mesh.

The method

Four visits, no surprises.

  1. 01

    Roofline survey

    We walk the roof, photograph nothing and measure everything: ridge gaps, valley openings, gutter profile, tile type and your BAL rating. You receive a written gap register the same week.

  2. 02

    Fixed quote & mesh selection

    Aperture, alloy and finish are chosen for your exposure and roof material. Colour is matched to your gutter or roof sheet. The price is fixed per linear metre — no variations on the day.

  3. 03

    Fitting by hand

    Mesh is cut, folded and crimped on site so corners sit flat and water still runs. Saddles, clips and screws are all non-combustible. Most homes take one to two days.

  4. 04

    Hand-over & annual check

    We clear the gutters, walk the finished line with you and issue a compliance summary for your records. A reminder for the pre-summer inspection lands in your inbox each September.

Three ways we close the gap.

Gutter & valley mesh

Continuous aluminium ember mesh saddled over the gutter line and fixed under the first row of tiles or sheet. Keeps embers, leaf litter and bark out; keeps the flow of a storm in.

Roof cavity sealing

Ridge caps, barge boards, eave vents, whirlybirds and tile-end gaps screened individually. This is the slow, fiddly work that decides whether a roof cavity ignites.

An annual clean and mesh inspection before the fire danger period: gutters cleared, clips re-tensioned, downpipe outlets flushed, written condition report.
